i dont know if this it tru but i heard that the press relase is just an attempt by lard bashum to keep people from coming to the meeting monday and his orriginal proposal is not gonna happen but instead he is gonna still close appalachia and pound but forget st paul

There is still to be a large crowd there. Folks from ST.Paul, Appy, Pound and now other schools. Many want to ask a few questions.
This is not a done deal and Basham as many want to ask and say, either resign or ask the SB to fire him.
This will be no small meeting and no nothing is over. Everyone still needs to show up.
This man or this boad needs to be gone. Or both. Time to put an end to this BS.
Show up in force Wise County Citizens and Teachers and Students. Let your voices be heard for once.

Well I could see some sort of alternate being suggested at the meeting, but I think it could more along the lines of a new committee to study and prepare. At least thats rumour. I agree with what was said elsewhere, it doesn't need to be just considered beaten now, it needs to be viewed as a great wrong was prevented but the only way to show how wrong it was, is to find a better way to fix it. I think Bashum could show up and have the best solution in the world now, and wouldn't be given a bit of credibility, his credibility is for lack of a better word, shot.

They need to renovate the schools before hand. Have it all completed. All signs of the previous school removed and then go from there. Its going to happen. It money reasons. Not School Pride or Community its money. Plain and simple. Fleming Neon and Whitesburg hate one another more then PV/Appy or PHS/JJK and guess what they are goin to be together next year in a new school. Just as Jonesville and Penningtong was also. I dont really care which way it goes. Combine thats fine, dont thats fine too. But its going to happen. It happened in our pasts with the combinations of all the Hollow schools each town had to become what we have now and its gonna happen with the schools we have now. Dwindiling population and absence of money. But if its going to happen, then lets start fresh.

I as many have said. We need 3 brand new schools. Many said that is how it would be. Basham would be crazy or to stubborn to suggest anything else.
Well what did Mr. Stubborn do. Suggest to the BOS renovation with almost half a million spent in trailers? And then ask for the originial $54 million dollars.
Time he goes or those on the board who back him go.
Time to end the BS. This man is wrong for Wise County and many on the Board are.
They are playing politics. Which did what. Ruined what could of been something good.
Pride and arrogancy = Mr. Basham and Some Members of the School board.

Thats the million dollar question my dad and I have debated. How do you do it. Im sure the things they could provide would be more then adequate. (sp) But to focus on what would be best for the KIDS and COMMUNITY. Is something a common, something full and new. Dont get me wrong seeing the end of PHS is ya know, its like a family member dieing. But in reality, people do die and we all have to deal with it. But itd be like putting them in a closet until you could get their grave ready.

Honestly i have no confidence in Mr. Basham or anyone in the Central Office many there are job scared. And yes about all the principals at most schools are gone.
And the school board. Well most cater to Mr. Basham.
In all honesty i will await the meeting Monday night.
If i get a chance to speak i will ask that Mr. Basham be removed as Superintendent, of Wise County Schools, even if it mean a buy out of his contract.
And i will address certain members of the SB, to not run for re-election.
They have no back bone to tell or control their employees. The Superintedent work for them not them for him.
Sorry if this upsets some.
But if i do get a chance to speak. I will say what i think and i will ask the following to not run for re-election based on their inability.
Mr. Caldwell, Mrs. Craft, and Mr. Franks and two other, this is not based upon thier views, but that they refuse to tell Mr. Basham he is wrong or help take control of the suituation, yet cater to the will of what is well now seen, as an out of control Superintendent. And one or two other members who are considered questionable.
If those who have the say so, cannot control the situation, it's time others who will say so, take or are put in their positions.
Mr. Basham has done nothing but disgrace and wreck havoic upon this County.
Time to let him go and may be many others ask to step down. They have no back bone to stand up and address a person who is their employee.
That is unacceptable on any level.
